| Burton is a Russian wheat aphid-resistant, two-rowed, hulled, spring barley. It has a semi-lax spike that nods at maturity and it's awns are long and rough. Burton is taller than Baronesses and under good moisture and furtility may lodge more than Baronesses. Burton has good heat and drought tolerance. Burton was developed by the ARS-USDA and the Idaho, Colorado, Nebraska and New Mexico Agricultural Experiment Stations from the cross of Baronnesses/3/Crystal/2/Klages*3/PI 366450. |
