| Russell is a medium late maturing variety, is tall in height, and has fair to good straw strength. Grain is creamy white in color with fair test weight patterns and acceptable milling performance. It is widely used in western Nebraska for forage and grain production and has good yield stability. Russell was developed at the Cereal Crops Division, Ottawa, Canada, form the cross Garry/Ukraine/2/Abegweit. |
